Blueberry Maple Sausage McMuffin
Makes: 4 sandwiches
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
1 lb Blueberry Maple Bacon sausage (casings removed)
4 English muffins, split and toasted
4 eggs
4 slices sharp white cheddar or American cheese
Butter, for toasting and frying
Optional: maple syrup or hot honey for drizzling
Instructions
1. Form the sausage patties:
Divide the sausage into 4 equal portions and form into thin patties slightly larger than the muffin diameter (they’ll shrink as they cook).
2. Cook the sausage:
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Cook sausage patties for 3–4 minutes per side, until browned and cooked through. Set aside and keep warm.
3. Toast the muffins:
Butter the cut sides of each muffin and toast in a skillet or under a broiler until golden.
4. Cook the eggs:
Use egg rings or metal biscuit cutters to keep a classic McMuffin shape (or cook free-form if preferred). Fry eggs sunny-side up or over-medium in butter, seasoning with a little salt and pepper.
5. Assemble:
Layer each sandwich in this order:
Bottom muffin → sausage patty → slice of cheese → fried egg → drizzle of maple syrup or hot honey (optional) → top muffin.
6. Serve warm:
Wrap in foil for the full fast-food nostalgia effect—or eat immediately, preferably with coffee and a crisp morning.
